Email Signature Etiquette

Have you noticed that some people use an image as their signature block at the bottom of their emails and some show their telephone number in full and put superfluous numbers in brackets.

The image approach means that it is hard to cut and paste details to Contacts.  While the use of brackets around the “0” means that you can’t touch dial the number from a Smartphone.

So you can be very customer focussed by making it easy for people by:

  • Put you details in plain text
  • Or include a vcf card in your signature block
  • Put telephone number in the following format +44xxxxxxxxxx, removing the unnecessary 0 after the +44
